Hello local 1230! this is an exciting announcement! we are having a bowling night with our local union! Please take this chance to get to know your union representatives and ask questions about the union as well as having a fun night of bowling!

Recently, we had your AFGE representatives from SMF, OAK, and SJC airports head down to Washington D.C to meet with Congress to fight for your next raise, solidify Title V rights, and consider legislation to honor fallen TSOs. Thank you to @bubbaboii, @amillionarie, and @b2a2rrera for representing all TSOs in Northern California!
Please remember to call or email your congressperson about reaching a budget! Appropriations end on March 22nd, we need Congress to pass a full budget and avert a shutdown!

Do you worry about government shutdowns and how it threatens your paycheck? Do you worry about paying for rent, food, or even gas in the event of a shutdown? With the Fund TSA Act (HR 3394), there would be no more worrying about when you would receive your next paycheck. Agency salaries would be fully funded to keep us paid while we're working! We had such a blast interacting and seeing everyone who attended!

The AFGE 1230 team goes to SJC and MRY airports for a visit and also to appreciate the TSOs who help the checkpoints run smoothly while protecting our traveling public. Members got to meet our Local President James Mudrock, Local Secretary Gilbert Galam, WFP Coordinator Susan Braverman, VP SJC Alex Spain, Chief Steward Carolyn Bauer, and VP OAK Mike Hawkins during the visits!
The team will plan more visits more regularly since they have been granted 100% official time to better represent their members. If you have any questions for our union, reach out to your stewards or reach out on the discord!

Union weebs unite! Had our Local 1230 members out for a fun time at @sacanimeofficial. Another great YOUNG event in the books!

It’s been a long road, but we finally did it! Thanks to our legislative team, AFGE 1230 allies, @afgetsac100, congressional reps, and you as a member we’re finally able to fulfill the promise of fixing TSO pay. TSOs will be averaging a 30% increase in salaries agency wide to match the new pay equity plan that Administrator Pekoske has laid out in order to match the GS pay scale. A new determination has also been issued to give screeners new rights. Our hard work as a union has finally paid off and things are starting to look up at @tsa for screening

Yesterday our local came out to rally w/ @sacramentolabor in front of @senalexpadilla office to support the PRO Act’s passage in the US Senate. The PRO act will modernize federal labor laws and create greater protections for workers who want to organize and create unions at their workplaces. @afgeunion unions are in a unique position with their LPC programs to support legislation that could help their fellow workers and local labor councils. AFGE 1230 will never forget the incredible solidarity demonstrated from the Sacramento CLC during our darkest hour and will continue to support labor through theirs #1u #unions #proact #congress #senate #afge #workersrights #workers

Local President James Mudrock and Local Secretary @gilbertgalam attend the Sacramento Central Labor Council’s campaign training event. They are readying up to support the candidates that will protect the airports from privatization, and secure GS pay in the upcoming election

Local Secretary @gilbertgalam recently met with Congressman @repdesaulnier in Walnut Creek to talk about supporting the GS pay scale bill and TSO issues. Rep. Desaulnier was very welcoming and supportive at the productive meeting! #hr1140 #1u

@susanseese is sworn in as our delegate for the Sacramento Central Labor Council at the latest delegate meeting.

Delegates fill an essential role for union locals. They become the voice and vote for their respective union local’s interests when convening with other unions at delegate meetings. Delegates are the main decision making body on how labor takes action in the area. Congratulations Susan!
